MY MAPS

MY MAPS

This map was taken from the website: "World Religious Belief".  http://www.worldreligiousrelief.com/

This is a world map representing the religious affiliation distribution by greatest number of followers by region. This map shows the dominance of the Catholic faith in Central and South America and all the lands once held by the Spanish (Phillipines and parts of US). I find it interesting the lack of religious identity in eastern China according to this map. I always thought they were predominantly Buddhist. You can also see the extent of the Muslim faith dominating the entirety of what was once the Islam empire. Though Hindu faith is mainly in India, because of India's population that represents a much greater percentage of the world population than this map would suggest. It is also clear that in the jungle regions of Africa and Brazil, there are still indigenous tribes practicing their secular faiths.
